Have you had organizing on your mind for some time? Maybe you’re unsure of where to start, or just don’t want to do the task yourself. Are you feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the disorder, clutter, chaos, and extraneous "stuff" in your life? Do you want to get it all under control? Do you long to spend more time doing the things you love, and bring new energy to your projects, home business, interpersonal relationships, and physical space?
You've come to the right place!
Whether your bane be a cluttered home office or kitchen; leaning towers of paperwork threatening to avalanche; or a frightening attic, basement, or garage, my goal is to help you take control of your systems and spaces, and to teach you how to become comfortable and capable of organizing.
If you're not a naturally organized person, don't worry- getting and staying organized can be learned! A primary component of my work is skills transference- teaching proven tips, tricks, and principles so clients become less intimidated by the organizing process and can begin managing their environment, and not the other way around.
Keep in mind that there is no one "right" way to be organized; what works for one person may not work for another. For instance, some folks want a magazine photo-shoot gorgeous finish, other folks want the end result to be a little less polished. We will work together to create systems that are tailored to your preferences so the end result is an environment that will work for you and your budget.
I work with families and individuals, youth and seniors, and the situationally or chronically disorganized on a whole host of scenarios, spaces, and situations (listed below). If you have a project in mind but don’t see it here, please ask!
- Downsizing and/or simplifying
- Tiny house transitions and planning
- In anticipation of a lifestyle transition
- Before or after a move
- After a loved one has passed
- Preparing for new addition in the home (partner, child, roommate)
- Time management
- Data management
- Emotional attachment
- Home office and paper management
- Any room in your home- even car, storage unit, & garage!
Our initial conversation will help you determine if working with a professional organizer will be a good fit for you, and it will help me understand more about your situation and your needs.
From there, we can schedule an in-home consultation. This is a time to analyze and strategize a plan of attack. In addition to learning about how you use the space and what kind of systems you have in place, I will want to better understand your goals, routines, vision, and concerns, and what's working for you and what's not working, as this will help guide our work sessions.
Work sessions are where we roll up our sleeves and begin the fun process of physically transforming the problem areas so they can work for you. Typically we think of organizing as discarding and arranging into pretty containers, but this is just a small piece of the process. The key to making lasting change is ensuring your habits and relationships with your objects, time, and data are taken into consideration so that the outcome is one that will be easy and intuitive for you to use and maintain.
We can also schedule maintenance or refresher sessions as needed to review prior organizing lessons or sweep through with a magical maintenance wand if the space has gotten a little out of hand (which is totally normal).
